Student volunteers shadow local doctors during secure telemedical patient consultations. Global Medical TeleBrigades are designed for leaders who care about equitable access to healthcare and want to empower other volunteers with medical knowledge through skill-based volunteering. Medical TeleBrigades Chapter Leaders organize groups of volunteers to deliver real impact through our local team by participating in live medical clinics.
Empower Local Doctors in Medical Clinics
TeleBrigades use virtual meeting software, secure tele-medical platforms, and the support of the on-the-ground healthcare professionals. This innovative program incorporates mobile medical clinics, interviews with physicians, medical Spanish, an introduction to pharmacology, and exposure to unique epidemiologic case studies.
Practice Medical Spanish
Develop, practice, and apply medical Spanish as you experience a bilingual patient care setting with fluent translators. Increase your awareness of the differences between international health systems and the challenges to medical access in remote communities.
Build Cultural Competence
Build cultural competence in unique international contexts and exposure to a different way of life in different parts of the world. Get insight into effective sustainable development practices, such as empowerment, community buy-in, and cross-cultural collaboration
